Traditional and Contemporary With this staircase we get a mix of the traditional and contemporary, with a touch of the continental. The blend works extremely well with a cut string stair and turned newels having a dark hardwood inlay, with enhancement from the metal balustrade to compliment the colours. The carpet set to a narrow band down the middle further enhances the colours. The curved front to the curtail step, and the newels turned outward sets the staircase off, allowing the appearance of being able to reach it from 3 sides.
